Dale was born in Germany, and began dancing in Richmond, Virginia while at Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned his B.A. in Dance from the George Washington University in 1979 and studied in New York with Alvin Ailey, Natalie Richman, and at the New York School of Ballet. Dale also lived in Italy where he danced in television shows. He danced with the McLean Ballet. Dale was a strong, yet supple, mover. He was a favorite with audiences. He was an expert at the highest level of competition and achievement in Dressage. He established a successful business in Virginia in “horse country.” Dale was a favorite of renowned dance writer and critic, George Jackson. Dale joined the Dance Construction Company in 1980 and performed in many challenging and diverse works with Maida Withers and the Dance Construction Company. He was always a favorite with the DC and international audiences. He was a strong physical mover with the power of projection as a sophisticated dance artist.
