Lorena Cervantes

Dancer:

State of the Art:  original version danced by Costa Rican dancers sponsored by U.S. Department of State to study in DC at GWU. State of the Art was choreographed by Maida Withers and performed by Costa Rican and USA dancers.

Lorena Cervantes was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and received a B.A. in Dance at the National University of Costa Rica where she taught dance and directed the Dance Una Company. Racanelli performed internationally with Dance Una prior to receiving her MFA inn dance at The George Washington University.  Racanelli has performed with Lesa McLaughlin and Dancers and Dana Tai Soon Burgess’ Moving Forward Dance Company as well as the Dance Construction Company in Washington, DC.  She is a dance education specialist with Wolf Trap in Virginia.
