The Stone Ring was an unusual program in GW’s Studio J Theater featuring Maida and international “extreme vocalist” Marilia (Japan/Brazil/America), and pianist, Stephen Lockwood (California, USA).  The artists were at GW preparing for a tour by the artists to perform Stone Circle in Tokyo, Japan.

Nancy’s work at GW included the following:
Utah *  Spirit Place * Spirit Planet * Tukuhnikivatz is constructed in such a way as to include dancers in supporting roles as spirit figures:  wisdom/stiltwalkers  (two dancers), painted women/water (three dancers), noble warrior (one male dancer), innocence/goon (one female dancer), and petroglyph/holy ghost (one dancer), etc.  Figures originating from images on the Great Gallery Wall in Utah.
Damned River, a work created on students by Maida on her return from Japan where the environment conference celebrated the one river in Japan that was not dammed, at that time. This inspired Wither Damned River project.
