Elana Lanczi

Elana Lanczi was one of eight dance students at the George Washington University invited to performer in Utah * Spirit Place * Spirit Planet * Tukuhnikivatz.  Choreography for Utah * Tukuhnikivatz is constructed in such a way as to include dancers in supporting roles as spirit figures:  wisdom/stiltwalkers (two), painted women/water (three), noble warrior (one), innocence/goon (one), and petroglyph/holy ghost (one).

Elana received a BA, International Relations and Dance, from George Washington University and an MFA from Temple University – Dance-Choreography and Performance.   Elena is an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University. As a dancer, Lanczi has performed with numerous choreographers including: Helanius Wilkins, Anita Gonzalez, Maida Withers Dance Construction Company and Grace Mi-He Lee in venues such as Judson Church, The Painted Bride and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival. Lanczi has performed internationally in South Korea and Brazil, and in 2004 she traveled to Germany to work with choreographer Gerda Koenig on a mixed-ability duet, commissioned by Tigertail Productions. In 2011, she was a choreographer-in-residence at the Florida Dance Festival and performer in Heather Maloney’s Vertical Sprawl.
