Carl Gudenius

Carl Gudenius Carl F. Gudenius, Exhibition Design, Set Design, Light Design for several Maida Withers Dance Construction Company productions.  Carl’s design for LEGACY: 50 Years of Dance on the Edge exhibition was beautiful and gracious in presentation.  Carl has designed lights for Dance Construction productions including Earth Spirit Rising (1990), and assisted in many diverse ways with the interactive technology productions of the Company.

Carl received his MFA at Wayne State University.  At the time of Earth Spirit Rising, 1990, Carl was the technical administrator of the USA Today Television show.   Works with the National Scenery Studios include the Broadway shows “Phantom of the Opera,” “Sherlock’s Last Case,” and the films Broadcast News” and “Suspect.”

Carl Gudenius was an Associate Professor in the Department of Theater and Dance at George Washington University where he produced the annual season of theater and dance productions.   Carl received his MFA at Wayne State University.  He has many credits for design for theater, and commercial productions, the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian and other prestigious producers. Carl was Chair of GW’s Theater and Dance Program for many years.  He is a Professor Emeritus, George Washington University Corcoran, Theater & Dance. Carl has been the Resident Designer for The Washington Stage Guild; Principal Designer, Design Concept Presentations, LLC; Scenic and lighting work seen at many Washington theaters including: The Kennedy Center, Olney Theater, Metro Stage, Church Street Theater, Horizons Theater and Interact Theater.  Recent corporate production design for industrial projects include work for: Sony, Accenture, MedImmune, McKesson, Choice Hotels, Barnes & Noble.
