Collision Course a.k.a. Episodes 1-2-3 (Artisphere)

Original Performance on October 21, 2011

(2011) October 21   Excerpts – work-in-progress presentation to a sold out crowd in the Dome building in Rosslyn, Virginia.

Three sections from Collision Course – a.k.a. Pillow Talk  (Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3) performed October 21, 2011 at Artisphere, a large museum and performance center at Key Bridge, Arlington, Virginia. The Dome Theatre features a full-size curved wall screen (60′ high) with a curved stage for performing and raked seating for the audience. For this presentation, a streaming process of exchange took place “live” with poet/philosopher, Alex Caldiero in Salt Lake City performing “stream of consciousness” text and writing text about love that is projected as a backdrop on the dome, high and wide curved white, amphitheater wall.  Audience is seated parallelling the amphitheater screen size and verticality.  We were excited to present our work-in-progress on a somewhat daring subject of relationships, sometimes controlling interaction of two men and one woman dancing about intimacy in relationships involving bed pillows.

Three episodes are different but connected by the physical relationships implied by featuring the bed pillow.  The larger stage production including visual projections and other interferences which may have distracted from the intimacy of the three dancers without other theatrical distractions.  These episodes are from the early part of the evening length work Collision Course – a.k.a. Pillow Talk (premiere 2012) and contains the most obvious and connected meaning.
