2014 – February 9 (date ?)  MindFluctuations: Numeric Variations Residency, SãoPaulo, Brazil:
Maida Withers residency at the Institute of Mathematics and Art (Instituto de Matematica e Arte (IMA) São Paulo, Brazil) with Tania Fraga, to explore ideas proposed for a new multi-disciplinary work.  As a passionate advocate for the collaboration of art and technology, Tania Fraga, Brazil, and several artists and scholars in Brazil explored experimental art with a brain controlled interface.  Fraga had the opportunity to perform with the Emotiv Neuro Headset (http://emotiv.com) at the Institute as research for MindFluctuations, seeking integration with the dancer wearing the Headset, the 3D animation impacted autonomously in the computer, and projection of the animation as an immersive performance environment. During the residency, Maida also toured with Ederson and Mirtes (Cia Artes Saos  do Corpo) http://www.ciaartesaosdocorpo.art.br ) in São Carlos, Brazil, a university city about 2 hours away from São Paulo where MWDCCO had previously performed Dance of the Auroras – Fire in the Sky, Documentary Film and where the company has performed in a festival previously.

Maida travelled to Buenos Aires, Argentina from Brazil to participated in a film showing and interview about her work with “Objeto-a,” a center devoted to art and technology in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The interview was videotaped and projected back into the the interview area with the video being manipulated with the Isadora video program (See Archives).
