2002 (December 6 to 15)- Maida Withers Dance Construction Company, George Washington University Department of Theatre and Dance, and Joy of Motion present this popular festival which brings together groups and dancers, performance artists and musicians from around the world to perform and teach workshops. The Washington, DC 8th International Festival brings together 20 groups and 77 dancers, performance artists and musicians from around the world to perform and teach workshops. This year’s festival features artists performing with the latest innovations in interactive video and audio technology, dance in 3-D and “live” music and dance improvisation. International artists are from Brazil, Australia, Italy, and France. The audience is invited to participate in “Heads,” a pre-show event using large foam rubber masks at the Marvin Center foyer.
