Ailed Izurieta

Ailed Izurieta has been dancing with Pisorrojo with Professsor Adolfo Ostos under the direction of Grishka Holguin since 1993.  She has a degree in International Studies.  In addition to her work with Pisorrojo, she studies at the Modern Dance School in Caracas, the Higher Institute for Dance, and the Ballet Art School.  She has studied Graham technique with Clover Roupe, Soltura technique with Jeremy Nelson, and improvisation with Cyrus Khambatta, Pilobulus and Toni Cots.  In 1996, she became part of Dance Caracas under the direction of Jose Ledezma, and also teaches with the National School of Dance.  She has danced in works by Grishka Holguin, Moravia Naranjo, Jose Ledezma, Yuri Cavalieri, Mirjam Burns, and Pedro Ososrio.  Izurieta is a past participant in Project3 in 1 Brazil-Venezuela directed by Andrea Hugheney, Luis Mendoca and Rafael Gonzalez.  Presently she dances and teaches with Pisorrojo.
