(2011) MAIDA 1 (02:37) (Film) – Dance Portraits on Screen
The camera is turned on Maida Withers in this study of motion and the force of nature by Ayodamola (Ayo) Okunseinde, Editor.   Maida I and Maida II are part of Withers’ Dance Portraits on Screen Series developed by Withers’ and Wither’s Where Where IS Productions.

The concept of the series is to provide two different filmmakers dance footage shot with green screen and have two portraits created on video that could then be exhibited in galleries and museums. Ayo Okunseinde and Anthony Gongora were the contrasting filmmakers selected for editing Maida I and Maida II.

MAIDA 1 and MAIDA 11 came about because at the end of a long day of shooting, the crew was exhausted but we had time left in the television studio where they was an incredible green screen.  Maida tried climbing the curved wall and Maida I and Maida II are the results of her failed efforts.

The premiere of MAIDA 1 I was at Dance Portraits on Screen showing in the expansive Dome Theatre at Artisphere, October 21, 2011, Arlington, Virginia. The showing features MAIDA 1 and MAIDA 11 and TZVETA 1 and TZVETA 11, others.
