Rob Bettmann

Dancer: Thresholds Crossed
Robert Bettmann (dancer) is a freelance dancer from Washington D.C who earned a BA in Environmental Studies, Oberlin College, and an MA in Dance, American University. Robert trains with Roudolf Kharatian at the School of the Washington Ballet. Robert began dancing in college, and following a summer at the American Dance Festival, was given a scholarship to attend the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Following his year at Ailey, Robert quit dancing and worked in publishing as an editorial assistant for science books. Robert moved to Washington at the end of 2000 to work at a consulting firm, a poor but expedient decision that was quickly addressed through a return to dance and the commencement of his graduate studies in dance. In late 2004 Robert began training full time on scholarship at the School of the Washington Ballet.

Robert is the editor of Bourgeon: D.C. Journal of Dance.  http://bourgeononline.com/
