Mind Fluctuations – Rehearsals
Rehearsals in the early stages of the development of MindFluctuations were very exploratory, but once decisions were made about specific cyberworlds  by Tania Fraga, interactive technology (computer art) that would be projected on stage for each dance, the content became more clearly defined and casting and rehearsals became quite specific.  Sometimes Dance Construction Company dancers were asked to improvise but the concept/content of each cyberworld dominated the dancers exploration.

The sequence of dance works is as follows: The Egg; Blackness/Underworld; Obsess; Turned Away; Illusion – Is Anyone Out There?  Yield – Twisted Minds; Offering; Monster Within; Virtue Exposed; Whiteness – Transcendence; Panspermia – Seeding the Universe.

Dancers, of course, were cast for specific sections/cyber world concepts (solos and group works). One dancer was  identified to wear the headset for each section of Mind Fluctuations.  Dance Section Titles:

Maida Withers regarding rehearsals:  “The simplicity of rehearsal may allow the dancer to feel more at ease and his/her performance may appear more natural.  Each dancer and dance may be quite different in that regard, of course.”
