Anton Ovchinnikov, artist and founder, Kyiv, Ukraine, met Maida Withers in Moscow, Russia where Maida was a guest artist with TsEKH, premiere extreme contemporary dance organization in Russia, presenting workshops and diverse artistic endeavors – radical influence in dance in Russia – Elena Tupyseva, director.

LEGACY: 50 Years of Dance on the Edge: Anton participated in Maida Withers exhibition & immersive installation, Opening Event, September 23, 2023 and the Gala Celebration, Friday, October 7, 2023, at the GW (Corcoran) Galleries and performed two of his own dance works Duel Solo and Barre (?) as well as performing in Pillow Talk with Alex Caldiero.
Maida and Anton’s most recent project, Pam’YA_ta_TY, funded by Trust for Mutual Understanding, commissioned four Ukranian women to, each, create and perform an original site-specific work, spring 2025. Projects will occur as follows: 2 in Ukraine; 1 in Italy; 1 in Finland. This initiative occurs during the invasion of Russian in Ukraine. There is a proposed follow-up project.
