2006 – Maida Withers received the prestigious DC Mayor’s Arts Award – Distinction in a Discipline (Dance) in 2006.  The Award Ceremony was held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, Washington, DC.

This award was given for lifetime contribution but also specifically for the 2006 creation and presentation of Russian/American project, Thresholds Crossed and the exhibition, Maida: A Choreographer’s Life.
