FareWell – The End of the World as we Know it OR Dancing Your Way to Paradise!
was performed by Maida, Steve, and Ayo in the historic Kanab Movie Theatre stage as part of the the 2009 Amazing Earthfest Festival in Kanab, Utah. This work is one of Maida’s FAREWELL SERIES works created about the demise of all life.  Each FareWell work features an aspect of the environment’s FareWell.   Maida was born and raised in Kanab until she was 5 years old.  However, her heart has always been linked to Kanab.
“Maida and the collaborators have explored the idea of end time through choreographic residencies and performances nationally and internationally in New York City, Nairobi, Kenya (Cultural Envoy with U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, and the GoDown Center); Salt Lake City for the Utah Arts Festival and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Following the performances, audience members are invited to discuss views about the end of the world as we know it to bring cultural insight to the issue of end time.
