Vincent Wineglass

Dancer from Washington, DC who studied and performed with Merce Cunningham Company and also performed with Bejart Ballet and on Braodway.

Vincent Wineglass was a beautiful African American dancer who I met when he was a student at Bennington College.  He came to GW to study dance as part of a study away program at Bennington.  While he was at GW, Maida Withers was creating what became the work, STALL. a collaboration with the rotating loudspeaker by John Driscoll.  I created a solo for him.  Eventually that solo was danced by Maida Withers when Stall. was presented in Berlin at the Akadamie der Kunste Festival and later at the Pension Building during a presentation by Doug Wheeler and the Washington Performing Arts Society.  http://maidadance.com/works/stall.
