Maravia Naranjo has been dancing with Pisorrojo with Professor Adolfo Ostos under the artistic direction of Grishka Holguin since 1991.  In addition to her work with Pisorrojo, she has trained at the Modern Dance School in Caracas, the Higher Institute for Dance, and the Danzahoy School, where she studied Graham technique with Clover Roupe, Limon technique with Rissa Steimber, and postmodern dance with Jeremy Nelson.  She has danced with choreographers such as Grishka Holguin, Yuri Cavalieri, Leyson Ponce, Mirjam Berns and Dana Tai Soon Burgess.  In 1993 she began choreographing pieces for Pisorrojo’s repertoire including Dogs of War (1993), and On the Edge (1994).  Thanks to encouragement of the group, she continues to choreograph and has participated in the X, XI, XII and XIII Young Choreographers Festival in Caracas since 1981.  Presently she dances, teaches and choreographs with Pisorrojo.
