Melissa Doumitt
Melissa Doumitt, from Georgia, has studied dance for fifteen years including ballet, jazz, modern and various forms of ethnic dance. Melissa, a performing arts scholar at GW, has performed several times in the past two years in Washington, DC including her most recent performance with Core Movement in Threshold: The Waiting Room.
Select George Washington University dance students participated in an early version of Utah * Spirit Place * Spirit Planet * Tukuhnikivatz in Washington, DC. Melissa also danced in Stone Ring, a work created with Maida Withers for performance by GW dancers in building J studio/theatre – an experimental performance that featured an exotic visiting vocalist, Marilia. This event made connection with the tour Maida and Marilia were taking to Tokyo.
