Helena Kuukka, the lighting designer, is back in the Washington D.C. area after spending the last three years earning an MFA in stage design from Southern Methodist University. A graduate of GW with a degree in theatre, Kuukka now works as a resident lighting designer for Horizons Theatre where her work was last seen in the world premiere production of Dear Esther. She has also designed for Dana Tai Soon Burgess and Moving Forward Contemporary Asian-American Dance Company, Tish Carter, The Memphis Opera and Studio Theatre Second Stage. She is an associate designer with CFG Design and Production.
