Karimba L. Ringera

Dr. Karambu L. Ringera, Founder and President of International Peace Initiatives (IPI), is  a strong intellectual driven by her desire to build positive skills (home industries developed by women) to bring about independence and achievement in the community of Meru in Kenya, Africa.  Karambu is a Lecturer at the University of Nairobi. Born and raised in Kenya, she earned her Ph.D. in intercultural communication in 2008 in the United States.  Karamba earned a Masters Degree in Media from Natal University, South Africa, as well as a Master of Theological Studies (with a peace and justice emphasis) from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Karambu received her Bachelor of Education degree and Postgraduate Diploma in mass communication from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Maida met her in Utah through Joe Pachak, Guide in Bluff, Utah for the Utah Project.

Karambu Ringera was running for national political office in Kenya in 2007. Maida continues to be in touch with Karambu in Kenya.
