Phase Tracing II

Original Performance on February 28, 1979

Phase Tracing II and The WALL do  not need to even EXIST as pages on maidadance web page. Catching Butterflies was the outcome for MWDCCo.  We can mention our first Catching Butterflies (Bldg K date with students in Building K and we can mention the students performance on the MCT show of Catching Butterflies.  That will leave just Phase Tracing original in Dance Project  and for the DCCo move to the  name Catching Butterflies and Other Things that Move.

I have not eliminated the pages off the web page yet, but think that is a good solution….
stay focused on DCCo events.

GWU related project:

(1979) February 28 and March 1 Phase Tracing II  Studio K Dance Theatre. George Washington University dance students performed a new work created during the artist residency with Ron Kuivila, experimental sound artist and composer.  Ron created a work, previously, with the Dance Construction Company titled Phase TracingPhase Tracing II  was a new work created with GW dancers. Phase Tracing II continued involvement with the use of mylar and the impact of the movement of dancers and the mylar on the sound score produced.  For Phase Tracing II, silver mylar strips were hung from suspended hoops in the Building J original performance.

Brook Andrews and Kathy ? Driscoll performed a duet on the Building J concert.

(1979) April 27 and 28 Phase Tracing II – The Wall was performed in Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre with the new title, Phase Tracing – The Wall.  Forty-five beautiful long silver mylar strips were hung in a row creating a distinctive relationship to dancers movements through the mylar to create changes in the sound.

This will all be included in one sentence on MWDCCo page about Catching Butterflies.
